I was thinking of the best way to describe myself in just a few words. I have come to realize that as time progresses, I become more and more complex. To find a few neatly chosen words, and place myself in a box, would neither give myself justice, nor give you a true understanding of who I really am. In my last journal, I said that one must "make it thy business to know thyself, the most difficult lesson in the world". Now I say, "make it a habbit to love thyself, the most important lesson of all". I've also learned that loving yourself never truly ends: I will have periods when I am completely satisfied with all that I am, and others when I am reminded of all my flaws. I just want a space, a time, a place when I can truly be honest once again. Somewhere where I can constantly discover my beauty, and embrace life. Sometimes I feel the need to start over. It is not because I want to continuously reinvent myself, but because I am trying to keep up with an ever-changing me. Sometimes that ever-changing me, (that butterfly I first disclosed to you all in my journal BeautyUnseen), needs to "start over", just so that I can find the strength to meet each day's challenges. I carry a lot within me, things that make me proud and things which shame me. Self-expression and writing has always been the most therapeutic excersize for me, and I want to indulge in that again. So here we go into 2007: May it be a year of peace and steps taken forward for everyone.
